What About New Covenant Grounds for Remarriage?

If a divorced Christian comes to me for counsel I advise them to try to reconcile with their previous spouse in remarriage. If the divorced Christian remarries a different Christian, then I would tell them that they have not sinned in marrying again. The question is, "Why would pastor Kerry give this advice?"

I do not see that there is support in the New Covenant Scriptures in God's preceptive will for a spiritually alive child of God to file for a divorce from another spiritually alive child of God. Practically, I teach this doctrine as a strong spiritual principle to drive the actions of Christians.
